
On the eastern edge of Vancouver lies the city of Burnaby. In 1992 it was incorporated and these days is home to around 200,000 people and their families. It's an interesting mix of many different types of people and cultures which makes Burnaby and exciting destination. Those that are done with the hussle and bussle of Vancouver and are looking for real estate that is less expensive tend to be moving to Burnaby. A wonderful combination of urban amenities with a suburban lifestyle make Burnaby an excellent place to settle.
One of the many reasons residents chose to live in Burnaby is the amount of recreational facilities in the city. Central Park is the crown jewel of the parks system in Burnaby. It's an amazing place to take a bicycle ride, go for a walk, or have a picnic with a loved one. Another amazing spot in Burnaby is the view you can experience from the top of Burnaby Mountain. It offers an unobstructed view of the city as well as Vancouver, the Burrard Inlet and far beyond.
The amount of different restaurants and shopping in the city is another reason to live here. The Metrotown mall is one of the largest in British Columbia and is convenient for visits. There are many excellent restaurants of all varieties in Burnaby, and this makes socializing and getting together with friends easy. Living in the city, you also have access to the home of the Vancouver Whitecaps, a professional soccer team playing in the North American league.
