Located around 15 kilometers southeast of the city of Vancouver, New Westminster has a population of around 60,000 people.  The locality was actually named by Queen Victoria, and it is located on the north side of the Fraser river and the Burrard Peninsula.  New Westminster has a tremendous amount to offer to it's inhabitants and is a consistently healthy real estate market.  The economy is very stable in the community and the residents are a mix of all sorts of people in various life situations.  The easy commute to Vancouver and more affordable property prices lead some to buy in New Westminster when they can enjoy the amazing surroundings but have easy access to the big city.
